Michelle Williams - Say Yes [Feat. Beyoncé & Kelly Rowland] Single and Video

Parece que este puede ser el año en que Michelle Williams recupere algo del éxito que cosechó cuando estaba en las Destiny’s Child aunque se dedique a un género de música que la desvía de la atención del gran público, el gospel, que por muy contemporáneo que lo haga siempre tira a mucha gente para atrás. Este 9 de Septiembre lanza Journey To Freedom, su cuarto álbum en solitario, donde sigue hablando de Dios, Jesús y todas esas cosas, ahora hace protagonista al hijo en Say Yes donde además se junta con sus antiguas compañera de grupo, Beyoncé y Kelly Rowland, lo que puede que le asegure el éxito fuera del ámbito de la música religiosa. Es curioso como la fama y un ritmo pegadizo pueden hacer que acabe escuchando música cristinana, pero es que resulta difícil resistirse a este Say Yes donde además de las grandes voces de Michelle Williams, Beyoncé y Kelly Rowland tenemos un ritmo extremadamente pegadizo. El vídeo por su parte quiere reflejar ese espíritu festivo y religioso por ambas partes, de ahí que ellas vistan de blanco en el jardín y que acaben en una fiesta donde todo el mundo baila y mueve banderines en honor a Jesús. Aunque sigue sin hacerme mucha gracia el tema religioso, esta canción me gusta y tiene muchas posibilidades de pasar fronteras más allá del ámbito del gospel contemporáneo, ya sea por que es pegadiza o porque significa volver a escuchar a las Destiny’s Child juntas de nuevo.

Gospel singer Michelle Williams premiered the mastered version of her latest single, "Say Yes," on Monday, June 2. She turns a Nigerian praise song into a club anthem with help of her old Destiny Child girlfriends Beyoncé and Kelly Rowland.

"Say Yes" is the latest single from Williams' forthcoming album Journey to Freedom. The gospel club jam follows her previous tracks, "If We Had Your Eyes" and "Fire." For this latest tune, she reunites the gals of Destiny's Child as they sing their praises to Jesus. An unmixed version of "Say Yes" was leaked last month, but Williams finally premiered the finished product today.

"Say Yes" is a traditional gospel hymn in Nigeria. Williams turns it into a breezy dance track with the addition of African beats and a slight electronic edge. The heart behind the lyrics is still very much alive, though, as Williams, Knowles and Rowland let Jesus know just how powerful He is. "When Jesus says yes, nobody can't say no," Williams sings in a fiery performance. With Destiny's Child members turning up in the name of Jesus, "Say Yes" can't be denied and it has very strong potential to be a gospel song that can crossover to the mainstream.

Williams' new album, Journey to Freedom, is expected to be released later this year. "Say Yes" with Knowles and Rowland is now available on iTunes.

 

Cher Lloyd - Nuevo album Sorry I’m late and New Single Sirens and Video!

La cantante Cher Lloyd lanzó su nueva producción titulada “Sorry I’m late”, la cual ya está a la venta en formato digital.

La británica promociona el sencillo “Sirens”, tema que interpretó en el preshow de la alfombra roja de los Premios Billboard, se informó en un comunicado.

El álbum contiene canciones como “Just be mine”, “Bind your love”, “I wish”, “Dirty love”, “Human”, “Sweet despair”, “Killin’ it”, “Goodnight” y “Alone with me”, entre otras.

El disco sucesor de “Sticks and stones” (2011) fue producido por Shellback, Savan Kotecha, Jake Schmugge, Clifford Harris, Rami Yacoub y Carl Falk.

Cher Lloyd terminó el mes pasado su participación junto a su amiga, la intérprete Demi Lovato en su “Neon lights tour”.

Cher Lloyd might have disappeared off the radar in the UK since the release of 'Sticks & Stones' nearly three years ago, but she certainly hasn't been twiddling her thumbs. As well as scoring a Top 10 album in the States, she's got married at a secret ceremony, parted company with Simon Cowell's label over musical differences and collaborated and toured with Demi Lovato. Providing a female perspective on Skee-Lo's 90s anthem of the same name, the cutesy lead single 'I Wish' sees Lloyd creating a check list of the attributes she needs to snare the man of her dreams (namely 'a butt and a rack') on a brassy urban pop affair which not only features a guest spot from T.I. but an echoed vocal sample which recalls Nelly & Kelly Rowland's 'Dilemma.  Cher Lloyd is a guilty pleasure. Her first album, Sticks & Stones (2011), had some great songs on it. Her second album, however, falls flat. Sorry I’m Late is supposed to be a more mature album, which it is, in the sense that there is much less of the electro bubblegum pop that defined her last album. But lyrically, Lloyd has progressed about as much as an infant who has grown to be a toddler. The first song, Just Be Mine, has her singing “you say that I make you wait, that’s true ‘cos I make you wait.” The songs tend to blend together, with the only saving grace being I Wish, featuring T.I. Sirens, which does show a slightly more mature, slightly more vulnerable side of Lloyd. Mother always said, if you don’t have anything nice to say...

Nicole Scherzinger - Your Love new Single and Video!!

Cueste o no admitirlo, Nicole Scherzinger es una de esas chicas que lo tienen todo, o casi todo. Canta de lujo, baila mejor y es guapísima. Quizá tantas cosas juntas, y el hecho de que ella se lo crea demasiado, hayan sido los impedimentos para que la ex-Pussycat no goce el sitio que le pertoca en la jerarquía monárquica del pop. Se fue a Malibú a grabar videoclip y ahora ya entendemos por qué. Nicole Scherzinger publica el primer single con su nueva discográfica, Sony Music, una nueva muestra de lo que decimos es muy cierto, es el vídeo de Your Love, recién publicado. En él, Scherzy aparece guapísima en una playa también impresionante y que, ahora sí, da paso al verano.

Nicole Scherzinger may be 35, but she’s got the body of a goddess and she knows how to work it. The video was filmed in Malibu and released (June 9). Dawn Shadforth directed. But really Nicole needs no direction. She knows all the moves in her barely there outfits.

The video was shot near sunset. The low-hanging sun silhouettes Nicole’s body in glorious backlight.

She gets right down to business with the opening line: “Boy you don’t know how much I like it.”

Wonder what she meant by that?

Earlier this year, Scherzinger signed a $4.5 million deal to jump to RCA Records from Interscope and is working on a new album. “Your Love” was released May 13.
